Ls430 navigation/stereo modifications

Hello all ,

is it possible to swap out the Navigation/audio unit for the regular non navigation display version of the ls430 . I want an aftermarket stereo with out having to add a double din in the bottom of the navigation screen . So I want the regular audio unit I wonder if I can find on eBay and swap it out with my navigation unit ? Anyone have any input ?

i've already looked into this. i am in the same boat as you. i would rather have the non nav system for purpose of update/upgrading things. but seems like the general consensus is that it would be cheaper/easier to sell my car & buy another that doesn't have the NAV.

The plugs on the rear of the NAV and Non-NAV are dissimilar. So you will have to go in and cut then solder together new connectors that mate with the old wires. Unless you have a schematic of the wiring for each version, you'll have to go purely on color-coded wires. Which even then might not be the same for each respective radio.
