Default 2006 LS430 headlight removal

I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to remove the headlights from a 2006 LS430. I've been searching and there are a lot of threads about the removal of the pre-facelift headlights and I see that those just require the removal of 2 bolts on top of the headlight but not much about the newer ones. It looks like the later models also have a few bolts on the bottom of the light. Is that true and if so do I need to take the bumper off in order to remove the lights? If anyone knows the answer and/or has the service manual and could post a screenshot that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have a picture or a thread for you but I've seen them before so just keep searching. The '04-'06 has to have the front bumper removed to get them out.

Are you needing to replace one because it's cracked or busted? Or, are they just faded.

Do you think I could access the lower bolt by going through the fog light? I need to remove a set I found on a parts car. I got a deal because I have to remove them.

I would have to look at the diagram again but I don't think so. You might be able to get to the bolts at the front inside but not the back ones. I don't think there is any way you're going to get to them without taking the bumper off or cutting sections out of the bumper.

Thanks for the replies. It looks to me like there are only 3 mounting tabs that hold the headlight in place 2 on top and one on the bottom which is why I was hoping that I could access it though the fog light. If you have time and can take a look at the diagram and let me know if there are any others bolts that it mount by I would greatly appreciate that.

think you could check on a vent on the center console on the passenger side for me? i'm tired of looking at the hole where the vent was every time i open the passenger door for something.

That is not true. You can get the headlight out without taking the bumper off. I did it on my 04. I outlined it on post #15 but you should read the whole thread. Several members here posted great tips.

i wondering if someone left the "hidden" mounting bolt out if it would make that big of a deal? i would think that 2 of the 3 mounting bolts would be good enough.

i am thinking about taking one of my headlights out to make sure it is sealed. when i have the back light cover on, i am getting condensation on the inside of the headlight.

If you need to take the light out you'll need to remove that third nut so why wouldn't you just put it back on when you reinstall? It would probably be ok but it has the third mounting point for a reason.
