Default Headlight leveling!!!

While Im driving at night, the headlights will go up and down for a while. Then they stop and the headlight leveling light on the dash comes on. Do I need to take it into the shop, or can i do it myself???

Your autoleveler is going bad.

Buy the part, then install it yourself. The module is the black thingy behind your headlights. Remove and replace. You might need to take out your HL's.

You will need to remove the front bumper in order to remove the headlights. Re-Installing may require two people for better fitment. The black leveler box behind the headlight assembly is easy to remove. I think it is two screws.

You can call lexus parts, and get the part # and go to Toyota for a discounted price. Thats if they carry that item.

There is a thread on my.IS on how to remove the bumper and headlights. Go to Members search and find SophieSleeps on my.IS. He has done a write up on all DIY's up to date

before you go changing out the autoleveler, check to make sure your sensors (one on each suspension arm, left front and rear) are not loose, too....
