Help evaluating: 06 UL 75K miles, asking 16K

"The dashboard has some chips/discoloration right under the NAV."
That would concern me. I'd wonder if someone had been in the dash try to fix something themselves, or Best Buy "short everything out" techs were in there. A dealer or a pro installer wouldn't damage the dash, and I can't see any other way that area would get chipped.
I just paid $8K for a one owner 04 91K miles non-UL with ash leather in immaculate condition, so price seems a bit high even for a UL?
I would hook up TechStream before considering purchase and see if there's any warning signs from the air suspension, those can get expensive in a hurry. I deliberately went for one without that.

"The dashboard has some chips/discoloration right under the NAV."----do you mean the grey/silver part directly under the nav screen? If so that is a very common area for chipping/rubbing off. Doesn't mean that someone was fixing or touching something. Nails and fingers can chip and rub it off. It has happened to many LS430's there are some DIY threads of people trying to paint/touch up the area with pretty good results.

I am purchasing an 05 UL with 69k miles for $10.5k. Look around and look often would be my advice. Searchtempest, craigslist, ebay, facebook marketplace. I searched everyday for about a month until I found this one.
There is currently an 04 with 41k miles for $10.9k in Boston.
05 with 98k for $9,900 in Tennessee.
I will travel wherever I need to for the right car though. I know some people only search around their area.
I would say a strong no go to the one for $16k. I saw it on searchtempest and didn't even click on the ad once I saw he was asking $16k for it. I'll buy a LS460 for that type of $$.

It looks like NJ plates so I would avoid. That's potentially 13+ seasons of salt. The price is way too high, as soon as you enter it into carfax you're gonna get a value in the 5-6k range. Allow for a decent profit and the price is in the 9's.
Again, the only advantage imho to getting a car with 80k or less is that you can positively replace the trans fluid without any issues. Above that you get into the is it dirty or is it burnt, should it be left alone deal. It's likely to be tough but if I were to purchase a car with say 120k or more, I want to see timing belt, plugs, and trans drain/fill, no exceptions. We can likely get into the "well I have 285k and have never touched the trans," too.
Sorry Lil' Ricky! lol didn't see your post until this sentence. congrats! I would take the vehicle to an indie and begin the drain/fills on the tranny, and stop at #3. Peace of mind to do the timing belt/water pump, I would, but likely it can still go...

Offer them 13k out the door. I paid 11k for my 06 ul with 160k about 2.5 years ago because there was slightly over 100 ul produced in 06. I felt I paid a little too much because of the mileage but I couldn't let the 06 ul blk/blk pass by. I had the timing belt and water pump replaced at 175k. Air suspension still in good working condition but a few months ago had rsr coilovers installed because I didn't like the car feeling like a boat. Currently at 203k and everything on the car still working like it should.
