Default Warning Buzzer at low speed

Have a 2005 LS430 Just started to get a Warning Buzzer at startup with a top-down silhouette of the car showing a flashing "bar" at the front of the silhouette (just in front of the "Hood" in the top-down view). Once accelerating to a medium speed, the buzzer stops and will not return until the vehicle slows and the brakes are applied. Once accelerating again to a medium/high speed, the buzzer stops. Anyone know what this is??

You've somehow posted your question in the "build thread" where few people go but I happened to see a link to it as the most recent LS430 post on the top level forum page.

Is your cruise control working properly with no other warning messages displayed in the cluster? Do any of the symbols in the adaptive cruise control manual for the 2005 LS430 look like what you are seeing? Here's a link to the manual: https://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/d...f/OM50686U.pdf

Default Warning Buzzer at Low Speed

Thanks, Jim---This is my first post ever, so I guess I screwed up as to where to make the post. Thanks for letting me know, I'll try to correct the post if I can figure out where to make the post.

The buzzer and image I am getting on the dash looks and sounds a lot like what you get when you pull ahead too close to a fixed object, like the bumper of the car in front of you when parking.

Anyway, this buzzer only "sounds" when the car is going slower than about 10 MPH. Even at 0 MPH if you are in gear (Drive). But if you move the transmission to "Park" the buzzer stops and the dash image (top-down view) goes away. As soon as you put the car in gear, the buzzer and image are back----until speed gets over (about) 10 MPH, then the buzzer goes silent and the image disappears.

Jim---I have not used the Cruise Control forever on my car. But I will check out your suggestion that it might be some setting in the Cruise Control

Did you ever get this sorted out? I would suspect an issue with the parking sensors by your symptoms.

Default Warning Buzzer at slow speeds

To Ricklin-------yes, it was a failure of the parking sensors. I finally had to turn the parking assist function OFF to "correct" the problem. The Parking Assist function is still off, I figure it will cost me a fortune to track down which one of the many parking assist sensors has failed.

I think Techstream will tell you which one. Lexus can plug in and tell you, or you can get your own Techstream software and cable. Some of the sensors are difficult to get to, others are pretty easy. There are cheapo sensors on Ebay for 15 bucks or so. I'm just parroting what I have read here with regard to the parking sensors.
This forum is an excellent resource. It's great to have an active group supporting these old cars.
