Smile LS430 - 01 UL - Cruise control max

Hi guys..
The cruise control on my LS is working great except for one small issue I noticed...I cannot set my cruise control to any speed more than 68 mph (110 kph).. and If i accelerated manually to a higher speed and set the cruise. the speed will simply go down until it reaches 110 kph then it will stay on that.
I tried also to disable the adaptive (radar) cruise and set the NORM mode.. but it had the same speed limitation.

- Does it need any kind of ECU unlock or something?

Thanks for all the support and help i'm getting from this amazing forum

Doesn't make sense. I have an 02, and I have never had a speed limit when I have set my cruise control. I'd like to turn the radar function off...it's annoying. I can see when there's a car in front of me.

It must be Japanese (or at least Asian) import. Cars from those markets come with certain restrictions built in. I remember when we started importing Hong Kong cars to Botswana, they would start beeping when you reached 80km/h. But sorry, i can't help you.

The radar cruise function can be disabled. I believe you hold the button and press it forward or back for a few seconds. This must be done while the car is stopped. This disables the radar function and allows "regular" cruise control operation. Try searching this forum or check the owners manual to find the procedure.

Disabling the radar function and seeing if "regular" cruise works may help you diagnose the problem. Sorry to be vague but it may be worth checking out.

I wonder if a techstream could remove the limit or maybe a usdm ecu could be installed.

Mine is a US car so might have different limiters set. I have routinely set my cruise control for 75 mph, and I think even 80+ mph when I lived in Texas where some roads have 80mph speed limits.
