Default coolant went down over time

Was poking around under the hood. Oil, full after about 600 miles since change.

Coolant? In about 18 months, it has gone down from the full line, about the distance from the full line up. Not nothing, but imho, normal on this car. Any other car I'd be worried, but on this one, I suspect nothing more than escaping from the reservoir cap (timing belt done 18 mos. ago, I topped off to full after job).

Again, when I bought this vehicle in 10/16, it had zero coolant in the reservoir, zero coolant that could be seen in the radiator (10/05 mfg date so 11 yrs. of use), yet the temp never went above normal and the vehicle has operated almost daily since. FYI....

Get underneath the car and take the plastic shield off that's below the radiator and look for white residue or faint red streaks that could possible be the seams of the radiator separating from the end tanks which could cause coolant to slowly seep over time as pressure builds up in the radiator...starts to happen around 100k miles if your on the original radiator.

I think evaporation, but I will check under the pan next time....I hate to replace the radiator as it seems that the replacements technically aren't the same quality as the original...although a $80 on in my Maxima was fine....

Denso is the factory unit. Put one in mine a few months ago when doing the big job. No problems. Quality is tit for tat.
