I opened my hood today and noticed the coolant hose was collapsed going to the engine. I took off the radiator cap and it sucked air back into the radiator and it filled back up again. I then filled my radiator with some more water and coolant. Anybody know why this would happen?
I got the car about 2 months ago, and when I had the spark plugs changed they said the coolant was low and filled that too. Since then I noticed once that the coolant hose to the overflow container in the front (I think thats what it is) was unhooked and coolant was pouring on the ground so I hooked it back up again and its never fallen off since. I'm guessing that might be what the lack of coolant is from since I've never checked it since then.
I don't notice any white smoke from burning coolant and I haven't really had the car long enough to notice any drastic coolant drop as I think the first time when the shop put it in, it wasn't really that low but they just topped it off and it could have been that way for awhile. Any ideas or suggestions on this?
It can also be a good thing. Your coolant system is airtight! Also, if your overflow tank is full, check the feed tube. They get pinched sometimes and don't flow. Mine did.
