Default parcel shelf/rear deck removal with sunshade

Hey guys I want to replace my sub and I was wondering what types of issues will I run into when doing so because my car is equipped with a electronic sunshade. Most of the videos I've seen on youtube are vehicles without the rear sunshade. Is the procedure gonna be the same? Do I have to remove any of the sunshade?

Thanks guy

All LS430 come standard with an OEM rear sunshade, which is located further back behind the rear deck. You don't have to remove it to access the subwoofer.

My '01 doesn't have a rear sunshade.

Both of my 2003 and 2004 non-UL LS430 came with rear sunshade so I assumed this is a standard offering - should have been more careful with the term "All". I stand corrected!

Turns out, some LS430 do not have a sunshade (see sketch below). If so, the rear deck trim panel is a one-piece design that covers the hole where the sunshade would go. Learn something new every day.

I have a rear sunshade and did not touch it whatsoever when I removed the rear seats in order to remove the rear tray covering the subwoofer.

Hey thanks guys for the reply. Sub is installed and I'm very happy with the sound. Went in without a hitch. I actually went a somewhat different route when mating the mounting bracket and the sub itself. I ended up trimming down the foam/rubber bumper on the front mounting face of the sub itself. In addition, I also stripped the front mount bracket which holds the connector off of the oem ML sub. So with that said, I was now able to clamp my sub between the oem holder and the bracket which came off the front of the oem ML sub.

Thanks again guys
