I am the very lucky owner of a "new" LS430 from 2004 since end of May this year.
I was not looking for a Lexus LS in the beginning (I was eyeing more the ES350 2011/2012 for its smaller size) but i stumbled upon this one and decided to go meet the owner. He was the 2nd owner and took GREAT care of it for almost ten years. He never drove it in winter and same happened with the first owner who was a snowbird. He gave me the garages receipts and I realized how well maintained it was. It is below 100K miles.
I read for weeks DIY threads from this forum and decided to go do some maintenance myself like the cabin and engine air filters, oil + oil filter change (Mobil 1 synthetic) + the spark plugs with the OEM Denso (same as the original ones).
I also cleaned (by hand with clay bar),polished and waxed it myself. There were oxidized rock chips in the front so i removed the rust with a sand pen and i corrected with color'n'drive brand (before polishing and waxing). Since the original paint did not really fade after all these years, the color from touch pain was matching quite well. It is not a professional job but will be enough to protect it.
It's perfect for highway cruising. And that build quality is astonishing... I feel like it will go for another 10/15 years easy at this pace.... I take advantage of my first and probably last V8 car before we all go electric...
Welcome to the club! I'm sure that car will serve you well.
You are correct. This car is fantastic for cruising on the Highway. I drive my 2001 to work every day ( 76 miles each way) and never feel worn out from the drive.
I agree, the tinted windows and 18" black wheels go nicely with the gold paint.
Congrats and enjoy your great LS430. You will be in for a surprise on how reliable and comfortable your new car is. Enjoy! You got a winner there!!! Use this forum for all your concerns. It is a great source of info.
