New LS owner
Hello everybody my name is Joe, I just recently bought a 2004 LS430. I wish I would have found this forum earlier. The car is silver with black interior, not after long of owning this car I realized what it feels like to own a true luxury vehicle. Now that I had the car for a few months. I am doing the front brakes soon, also what oil should I run? I called several Lexus dealerships and got mixed answers. Also I am glad to be apart of ClubLexus, also she is dirty in the pics below.

What oil? Whatever you want. I switched my 83k 06 to Mobile 1 5W/30 High Mileage on my last oil change and do a one year oil change interval since I don't drive it much. OEM filter too with a fresh drain plug washer also...

Thank you for the warm welcome.Yeah it seems like Mobil 1 is a very popular brand, and lot's of positive results. I just had the dealership due my timing belt, water pump, spark plug and seals, valve cover gaskets, and all the other parts that need to be replaced during a timing belt replacement. That is awesome Lex how you have a Ls just like mine. Yeah, i ordered the brakes online, they should be here in a couple of days. I just clocked 117K on her.
Would you recommend Full-Synthetic, Synthetic Blend, or Conventional.
Also I am glad to be apart of the Lexus fam, and am looking to meet some cool people.

As far as oil goes, I DIY (simple) with whatever had the rebate, meaning Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum or Ultra Platinum. Then I use a WIX XP filter. I bought a pack of new drain plug washers, but since they are not crush washers, I find it unnecessary to replace every change.
Congrats and good luck!

At 178k I'm still using full synthetic 5w30 Mobil 1. No leaks so I wont change soon. I also run wix oil filters. Dont go cheap on the filter. Definitely dont go fram.
Beautiful car btw. The value per dollar is insane!

Thank you guy's very much for all the welcome's and positive comment. So today I did my front brakes, used all brembo oem parts. Next is oil change, I ordered a oem toyota oil filter. Can I run that filter with Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w30?

Full synthetic 5w30 Mobil 1 for the win. Always my choice and I buy the gallon jug with the rebate. Has always worked for me.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. Enjoy the ride.

Been running M1 5w30 Extended Performance for ~100k miles. The extended performance M1 has more zinc than their typical formula, important to reduce wear on bearings etc.
For oil filter I use the Fram Ultra XG3600 - which is a larger filter than standard.
