Default Problem pairing smartkeys with memory seat

I have been having problem with pairing our smart keys with the memory seat. I bought the car back in May, and I manage to pair both smart keys with the memory seat. One for my wife, one for me. Everything is working fine, wife and I are happy.

A few weeks ago, I replaced the car battery. I tried the same process and for some reason I can not pair the smart keys with the memory seat. I know the smart keys works. Car battery is new. Smart key battery is new. I can unlock the car by having the smart key in my pocket, and touch the door handle. I can start the car with the smart key in my pocket. I can open the trunk with the smart key in my pocket. The only thing is I just can not pair it with the memory seat. I have changed my seat setting, reprogrammed the memory seat, then pair it with the smart key but still no luck.

I have tried resetting the memory seat - I found a thread for SC430 that involves moving the seat all the way to the back, and front, etc, and that does not help. Is there one for LS430?

I have spent hours thru several weekends trying to pair the keys with the seat memory with no luck. Help please?

Yep. No need to push the memory seat button. So if I am walking toward the car with my smart key, and open the driver side door, it automatically set the seat and steering wheel to my settings (which gives more legroom for me). When my wife with her smart key is the one who approaches the driver side door, the seat will automatically move forward and adjust the steering wheel to her setting (less legroom, she is shorter than me).

This feature used to work for us. There is how to's in the manual - my wife is driving the car now, so I can not tell you what page in the manual.

For 04 LS (not sure if it is the same page for other model year), it is on page 221 in the owner manual. You can go to Lexus.com and download the pdf.

Just remember you do need to program the memory seat first before pairing it with the smart key.
