For anyone who is interested, this is what 16” wheels off a 2000 LS400 looks like on a 2005 LS430

Did your ride quality get better or quieter?

I definitely prefer my wider and larger 18" wheels, but I have to admit... that looks great!

The only thing I would try to change is swap out those plastic center caps with the gold "L" for ones that have a silver "L"... or change the badging on your hood and trunk from silver to gold so they match. But I'm also a perfectionist, so...

My 2002 LS430 also has 16" rims and it rides like it is floating or gliding over the road. I may have sacrificed some handling but I could care less.

That looks very nice. I like it. Any issues with clearance for the brakes?

Shouldn't be. The 2001-2003 LS430s have the same size brakes as the 2004-2006 models, and that is the same size wheel/tire that came standard on 2001-2003 models (225/60/16). The only difference in wheel size is the 2001-2003 standard wheels were 16x7.5 and the wheel size he put on from the 2000 LS400 is a 16x7

Yeah, I've heard different stories about that on here. Curious as to how close the brakes are from someone who actually did it. That should settle it.

Fair enough.

I suppose the offset could be different... lets see what ahx has to say

Thank you. I actually have the gold trim package- including gold pinstriping - but it’s not on the Lexus badge on the grill due to the dynamic cruise control shield in front of it. Anyone have the gold Lexus grill badge behind the dynamic cruise control shield?

I always liked those 16s. I have 17s on my now, would the 16s improve the ride at all? I cant see the impact being very significant. I have been wrong before though.

Ahh. That might drive my OCD crazy and make me change all of my trim to silver lol.

And it's a little hard to tell from that angle, but the clearance looks... snug for sure. Could you take another pic so that we can see the clearance between the inside of the "spokes" of the wheel and the outside of the caliper?

You have no idea how angry I am that when they refurbished the wheels they painted over the metallic center caps. This is what the wheels and center caps looked like before they were refinished. You don’t want to know how much money I spent to find these wheels, have them refurbished, and then buy brand new nice Perelli P7 tires.
