Default Anybody replace factory NAV with a cs9320?

I know there is one thread on here where a guy swapped his factory NAV unit in the trunk with a cs9320 android device, but he hasn't been active for quite a while. Looking to hear anybodys experience before I decide to try for myself.

Link to the unit for those who aren't familiar with it -

https://car-solutions.com/en/cs9320-navigation-box-on-android-for-multimedia-receivers-gps-and-glonass.php

I know I need the universal touch controller as well.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know about this one, but I have the Grom Vline, and it's the best thing I could have asked for on our car. Waze and CarPlay are a god send. Also, I was able to install the unit myself in an afternoon with no prior experience doing that sort of thing.

Unfortunately, they don't make a vline for a 2001.i have the grom bt3 now, and it's great, but Id like the update nav, and would love to run poweramp on the android device, and have it on the nav screen.

For sure, that's a bummer the vline isn't compatible with the 01-03, I would maybe reach out to them to see if they have plans to include the earlier gen at some point.

I lucked out and stumbled on it while it was still on presale and only paid $300. Before that, I would not use the Nav for anything...now I use it for EVERYTHING!

Updating the nav on this car is totally worth it with the right device for the right price. Good luc.

unagijimbo-
What part of Illinois are you in? I have been considering the Grom Vline to replace the standard Nav maps with Waze, but I am concerned about how it operates while listening to Sat radio. If you're in the Chicago-land area is there any chance for a demo?

I'm in Chicago, River North during the day for work and live just west of the city. I know you can't use the VLine and sat radio at the same time. If you are an iPhone user, you can use the Sirius app with CarPlay, which I use. Not sure how the Sirius app works directly on the vline.

PM me if you want to set up a time to check it out or let me know if you have any other questions.

That's getting close to a deal-killer. Can you use the steering wheel controls with the Sirius app/CarPlay?

How close are you to Elmhurst?

Yes, you can use the steering wheel controls for CarPlay/Sirius. I actually really like the Sirius app functionality bc it has access to on demand content and is a nice upgrade over the stock Lexus radio interface. Also, you can cut your cost by only paying for streaming if it is the only car you use it in.

I'm in Forest Park, so I'm pretty close to Elmhurst.

Guess they've ironed out the links in the vline? I've been following the thread and it seemed like a headache

The VL is pretty stable now. I think a lot of the issues on the thread these days are outliers. The only REAL headache was in the early days when it would go through boot loops and there were a few other annoyances. We are long past that point, but unfortunately, it seems like that reputation has stuck around.

Hopefully when the VL2 drops, it will get a better rep from the get go!
