Agreed, In fact it had pin striping with the artists name on the gas door. But the emblems I think are available on ebay.
You are correct they are aftermarket there is the standered silver emblems and then the gold emblems for the gold package

Who painted the stripes? Sid did it or Beck lines??? Probably one of those two. My money's on Sid....

I met Sid while I was waiting for my Acura to get serviced about 10 years ago. I watched him stripe a couple of the cars sitting in the showroom and he was very personable and was willing to answer any question that I had. I told him that I'd get him to stripe my next car which happened to turn out to be this one. He just managed to beat me too it.
One of the things to keep in mind when you view the picture is that the scale is off. The signature that he paints is actually pretty small...

Surprise! Some of the Lexus LS 430 sales brochure actually lists the Black Perl emblem kit as factory OEM optional equipment. See here.

All Toyota/Lexus actually has the option for the Black Pearl Emblem kit. However, it's so rarely advertised that even most sales rep doesn't know about it; I've only met 1 sales rep that's aware of such thing. Because of its obscurity, it's also very expensive to order. I was looking some up for my 2011 Camry and was quoted $400! Most dealer doesn't even know how to look up something like that. You'd have to find the part number online yourself and try to buy it. That's how I found out Toyota/Lexus actually has this option for all models.
