Default Bad air shock

I have a 2003 LS430 with 77K with 77K. The rear passenger air shock is bad. You can see that it is lower than the rest of the car. Called Lexus $1800. for the part 400 labor. Obviously I am not going to do this. Any suggestions how to do this a lot cheaper. Thanks

Used is a good option, but used, is just that... Used. How long will it last? Here's one I found on eBay;

The other option is conversion to conventional struts. There are a few threads on the installation of conventional struts on a car with air suspension.

Its not necessarily a bad shock, it could be a bad height sensor. I thought mine was bad even though it seemed to be leaking. I didn't have much change but the ride was smoother. I then changed my height sensor and found that it was back to normal height after adjustment. You might want to try to measure the height of your fender right now, then adjust up your sensor down or up and see what kind of change you have. If you have no change it could be the sensor. If you have techstream you can examine further. If you look at the air suspension thread you can read up more about my post.

Been there done that. If it is an air strut, don't replace it. Convert the car, and my suggestion is to go to coilovers.

the front left went out on my wife 03. sourced used springs from eBay, and bought new shocks from tire rack. after installed, simply pulled the fuse out for the compressor.

drives like a dream and never gotta worry about leaking shocks again.
