I got my oil changed yesterday at the dealership and I got to talking with the Service Writer who is on loan from a Chicago area dealership, and he tells me the oil looked fantastic coming out of the engine. Keep in mind, I drive roughly 3500 miles a month, so my oil changes are about every month and a half or so. This time, the oil had about 6000 miles on it when I got the car in. I guess I'm not surprised by the oil being so clean..Originally Posted by Aron9000
That's standard Toyota operating procedure, at least for me. Even for my 2004 Tacoma with 187k on it, check tire pressure, check oil/fluids every other gas fill up, clean, always on the full mark, change every 5000.
I explain about my driving commute and he tells me he's got a 2003 LS that he drives and it just hit 600,000 miles. Turns out he commutes from Milwaukee down to the Chicago area to his normal dealership and has been doing that drive for 7-8 years. He's done 2 starters, replaced the interior with the seats out of a wrecked LS and just rebuilt all the suspension, besides all the normal maintenance stuff.
Crazy...

Wow, 600k....I came across a video of a '03 LS that was sold cert/pre-owned by a salesperson, then he took it back in trade for another CPO, 12 years later with 350k.....Originally Posted by 2KHarrier

Happiness is getting off probation..... but 600,000 miles is insane, i cannot believe that i have not even broken 100,000 with my 05. That makes me wanna buy another ls and drive it year round and just leave it stock.

haha you made me remember something from when I delivered for Dominos. I was all flustered and po'd because I threw my wallet away in a bag of food (how stupid can a person get, threw my wallet away?). So I tell the dishwasher Daryl do you know how hard it is to replace all my ID? He goes tell me about it. I had to get a dupe of this once what a hassle, and he hands me his id....City of New York, Correction Department, Rikers Island Inmate Identification Card. I was like whoa, what they get you for....I'm sure today with online and everything it's easier to get a new card. Dude was a bad a** in a motorcycle club from da bronx, I made friends with everyone and anyone...Originally Posted by 05ls430518
