Default Powerflow Splash Guard Installation

I ordered these splash guards just before Christmas and finally had a free day to install them, along with my snow tires. Installation was a breeze.

I ordered the models 6401 and 6402 for the front and rear installation. They're basically the same, but the 6402 has a slight radius along the lower edge and the 6401 is straight.

It's always best to start a project with a clean car, but with all the melted snow on the roads, it's nearly impossible to get the car from the car wash back home without getting the bottom filthy again

First thing was to pull the wheels off the car and dig out my snow tires. I checked the pressure in each one and they hadn't lost any air since last April. The front guards were able to be installed using an existing Allen bolt for the wheel well trim. After that, I added 3 more screws spaced out on the guard

Here's the guard being installed on the right front wheel well. I had to adjust the front left guard to get it to fit tighter against the body, but it fits tightly now.

Right front guard going on.

The rears were just as easy to install. The guards are made of a rubber-like material which conforms to the body lines fairly easily.

Left rear
Here's the car back on the ground with the winter Nitto NT-SN2's installed. These are 18 inch tires that were on the 2005 last winter, so I decided to put the 17 Altimax's on the 2005 and run the 18's on my car this winter to even out the mileage. I think we put about 1500 miles on the '05 last winter and probably 15,000 on my car during the same time period!

And here it is in the daylight.

It'll be interesting to see how the splash guards handle the pending snow in the next couple days

I need to get the 2005 out of the garage and get it cleaned, as it's been sitting for a week or so.....

Nice job. Those look pretty darn unobtrusive and functional. If I lived in a place where I might see a lot of mud/snow I'd put those on.

Thanks very much. Yeah, for the 32 dollar investment. I'm pleased as punch. I couldn't see spending even 100.00 on factory used guards right from Japan, if you can find them on the Up-Garage sight.... I'm undecided on whether I'll leave them on for the summer, or remove them and reinstall the hardware. I'll see how motivated I am in April...
