where do I insert the valet key to start my Lexus LS430

What year do you have? I'm going to assume that you have the Smartkey system installed in your car. Place the end of the key fob into the ignition switch like you would any key. It does look kind of funny because it doesn't stick out like a key does. See the attached picture...
