One thing I would mention when you do your battery, don't overtighten the cables. On my negative, the cable was loose no matter how I tightened it, so I tried to reshape it and it worked. For the first time I bought one of those devices that takes a 9v battery to keep the memory...

Back in business. The tech at Interstate was able to decode the H3 sticker on the old battery as having come from 2013, so it was probably due to be replaced anyways. Ended up with an Interstate battery.

Cold climate and Houston is almost an oxymoron. Curious on the battery cover... didn't even know our cars came with them. Must have been something the previous owner discarded... I see them on eBay, but I'm not about to spend $75 for one.

Took my weak battery to autozone and they recharged it and told me the battery is GOOD. Parked the car for 24hr and it drained again. Had to jump it. Do I have a bad battery or another issue.

It sounds like you have a severe parasitic battery drain. Take a look at the posting below for some tips...

I just got a new battery today. I ended up getting the Bosh AGM from PepBoys for $146 (saved $58). Four year free replacement. My last battery was going on just over 4 years old and had died a couple times.

Just thout i would shearer thgis. Sometime it is not the battery or the alternator. It could be a bad connection , lat weekend i was visiting a Frind and when i wanted to come back the care did not start. Termenls was good tried jumping it with my friends car and it did not start. Removed the terminals Abd it was not clean had a wight corrosion on it. Cleaned it up with a wire brush, and it stated inedatly.

Had a similar Interstate Mega Tron ii installed in our LS430 last month, the "green" version. Replaced a draining "AAA" battery that only lasted around 3 years but I did not want to use them again. I was going down the Optima Red Top path but they do not have a 24 or 27 model and the 35 is not a good fit without the added tray spacer. Car is starting and running better with the new battery....

Do not recall a battery cover but our car is an '01 so maybe later models have them (but never seen one....).

My 1998 Nissan rusted on the front left corner of the fender. I said to my uncle, that's odd, why'd it do that? He said it's from your battery. Then I thought....(*)&#@()%*&@#*($&(@_&!$_&*!@#(*)$*&!_@$&_!@$* the first battery replacement was done by me, and I tossed the sleeve that was around the original. The reason was the original was a 24F as the car had the cold weather package, and I replaced it with a 35 that my parents had coming out of a Toyota. Can't help but wonder if that sleeve protects the body, I mean, it's there for a reason and these things gas when they're charging (batteries that are internal have vent tubes like my BMW and my wife's car). My LS had it when I did the replacement with the Costco 24F, so I kept it in place...

Should I get the optima red top or a Walmart battery ? Which one will hold its cranking power and start up on demand, my battery is from 2017 and it’s sluggish to crank to day it died so I’m looking for a good replacement let me know if there’s anything better

If you live in warmer climates and never have to worry about starting in below freezing temps put more emphasis on the warranty than the battery itself.

You right I spent 100$ at Walmart for a 5 year warranty battery at the end of the day batteries die so I won’t be spending to much thank you

Optima's warranty isn't as good as it used to be either. IIRC it's only 2-3 years tops now.
