my lexus ls430 model 2002 when cold it will not go to reverse some it takes 15 minutes then every thing is ok

. First check trans fluid level. If ok change fluid. If no change most likely more serious. Might be torque converter.

Solenoid failing. Start looking for a decent used transmission.
