Default Does the Saddle Interior Demand Higher Price?

I have a 2004 white LS430 with the Saddle Interior.

I was talking to a friend and he absolutely hate the color combo but I love it. From my research on this forum, most people like it and consider it rare.

I told him, I bet my car demands a higher price than the more common colors in the same condition/mileage, etc. He thinks not. What do you guys think? Even though I know it's quite subjective.

Mine have almost 140k miles with every record imaginable. I wonder how much I can get for it.

i dont think it will add much if anything to the price.condition is the only thing that adds or subtracts value.

You need to find a BUYER who values the car you have. I doubt any one feature will get you a penny more. The trim level, condition, mileage and local market conditions will be what determines the value of the car. The 2005 - 2006 Lexus LS430 in good condition is worth between $ 9,000 - $12,000 here in Toronto

doubt it.... usually the used car a nice way to pick up features you've always wanted, but were not willing to pay for when new....because they generally don't add much to the selling price. Sometimes, like in the case of the ultra luxury package, it was a lot more when new ($12k?), but many do not want such a car today, so it may detract from the value. Me? If I ever did it again I would value a CL with analine leather, unlikely I would find one....

no question it adds to the value of the car, assuming the right buyer, and all else being equal. Major assumptions.

Interior and exterior color are the two most requested features for most car shoppers. You have a rare color. Hence, the assumption of finding right buyer. That is a big assumption in a shrinking market but true nevertheless.

imho would have to be an emotional buyer where money is not an object....for example, if a person know that the UL comes with a unique set of challenges, but they somehow have to have the car they see, and the seller says, "You know, this car was $12k more when it was new, which is why I'm only adding $4k extra, now that it's 10 y.o." If the buyer feels happy to pay $19k on a 10 y.o. car, to each his own, I get that it does happen....(carmax kind of plays upon this in their business model)

used car buyers are very price sensitive. If they are looking at a luxury car, I would not expect it to be easy to get an extra $4,000 for ANYTHING.

Carmax tends to be in that ballpark over other cars for sale, and I heard they do not negotiate, so as far as price, wysiwyg...my buddy used them to test drive a '08 M3 manual, no way did he have any intention on paying what they listed, he just wanted to enjoy the car...

With older Lexus's like the first generation SC, different interior colors made the car more valuable. In the LS' case, saddle and the all black interior are the most desirable and a little bit more valuable. There was a time where people would pay a premium for saddle interior but now it's maybe a little bit more than the average LS.

Last year I knew I was paying a $3-4k premium for my less than 30 k miles 2004 SC430 white with a saddle interior but that is the exact combo I wanted and it is relatively rare in this model. I still have the autotrader search criteria set and have not seen another one come up within 200 miles in last 12 months. I'd probably not get near my money back selling it but I'd pay the premium again in a heartbeat.

If I had a white with saddle LS430 I'd ask extra for it particularly in the Southeast part of the US because down here lighter colored cars are in more demand than dark colors. If seller is very patient they can wait till the right buyer comes along that understands the value and rarity. If you need a quick sale than saddle interior likely adds little.

The Saddle interior will make the car easier to sell because many will seek it out but add very little to the price. Maybe a few hundred dollars.

I'd pay an extra 500-1000 for a saddle interior. Mine's just black...
