NEED HELP - Steering Wheel & Interior Conversion
Good Afternoon CL Folks, I am hoping for some knowledge regarding my 2002 LS430.
Quick Background:
Lexus "ecru" interior was beat up and useless, so I decided to swap it out. I found a complete interior from a 2001 LS430 (in black) and decided to upgrade it.
I have 2 main problems that I have encountered that have me cocking my eyebrow.
1. I replaced my driver's seat with the new black version. When I did this, I noticed the 2001 seat has 2 plugs whereas my old seat has 3 plugs? So I plugged in the two that matched, but now I get a constant seatbelt indicator blinking, as well as a steady "airbag" indicator light. Is there anyway to bypass this or to tell me how to remedy this?
2. When I went to swap my steering wheel, I noticed that the airbag ignitor for the 2002 has two plugs, but the airbag/steering wheel combination for the 2001 only has 1 plug. Is it possible to transfer out all of the hardware (i.e. airbag ignitor and steering wheel guts) and put them into the other steering wheel?
Any help you could give would be much appreciated. I am mechanically inclined, but I tend to shy away from electrical issues. Thanks in advance.
