For all the questions you guys have about Grom, they seem to be really responsive on their YouTube videos. I'd suggest you read through all the comments, because I'm sure others had the same question as you guys, or you can simply ask the question again on their YouTube video.

Where can you get those soft pry tools?

Very nice upgrade. Nice to see no posters (so far) complaining about the $225 cost of the wire harness interface as they did regarding the VaisTech MML > https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...-04-430-a.html

Once you get it dialed in, it would be great to get your full report.

Most auto parts stores carry them, or search for trim pry tool on Amazon.

Prefer the OP's install but it's not an option on a NAV LS. I've been semi tempted to buy a Premium so I could do something like that JVC. Get a high resolution screen and high end stereo. Redoing the ML audio is difficult and incredibly expensive.
I have an 04 UL with nav and ML. I installed a Pioneer double din with a complete kit from Beat Sonic. It cost me about $400 but I'm really happy with it.

Nice install. Did you do it yourself? If so, difficult?

Thanks. Yes I did it myself. Not too bad. The worst part is running the antenna wire. The factory antenna plugs into the Mark Levinson amp in the RR of the trunk. So you have to plug the antenna adapter in there and run it all the way up front. Not difficult, just tedious.

I didn't realize that wiring harness cost so much. My sister needs one for her base model 02 LS but the harness costs more than the radio we're putting in the car.

Is there any cheaper alternatives? She wants to run aftermarket speakers, amps, and a sub.

You don't need the expensive harness if you are ditching the factory amp and speakers.

That's good to hear. I was planning on selling the factory speakers since we wouldn't have a use for them.

Might as well just give them away.

There was some setup awhile back where you could toggle between the interfaces, but cant remember the product.
I've had my vline since december. There were a few issues at first, but they were quickly resolved and Grom's customer service was responsive. I could not be happier with the added functionality of the vline. There are still a few quirks depending on how you use the unit, but I just use CarPlay and Waze and have not run into most of the things posted on the main vline thread.

If you have the scratch and are on the fence, I say go for it.

Is it a responsive system? I am thinking about getting the V-Line to replace my VAISTECH. Also, do you have any pictures of the install on where and how you mounted the box?
