5 channel amp

Who is running a 5 channel amp? I'm planning on swapping out my door speakers soon. And rear sub. Any down sides to a 5 channel. Or should I go with a 4 channel amp and run my 12in kicker l7 with another amp.

If the amp is powerful enough and has the separate sub controls, why not stick with a single 5ch amp.
