Default What amp should i get ???

OK , I have a 800 watt 12 inch pioneer sub which was powered by a 2 channel Alpine V12 600 watt amp which has died(long story).....now i need a new amp that will push that sub with no problem and not have to spend another $300.....Any Suggestions????

You won't get much for under $300. I suggest saving up for a decent amp.

How many watts should the amp be? What specs should i look for? Sorry i dont know much about sounds systems.

ok when you look at a sub it has 2 power rating peak watts and RMS peak is probally the 800 watts but RMS is usually more important. So depending on that I would get an amp, if you get a 800 watt amp you going to blow the sub, I would probally stick to something around 200-500 watt amp

Incorrect, assuming the quoted speaker rating is RMS watts. An amp should be sized to the speakers RMS power rating, assuming the amp has good peak power handling capability. For a good quality sub, an amp that has the same RMS power rating as the sub is appropriate. Usually you are not cranking to the limits anyway, at least not in the continuous sense.

check these guys out.... its called volfenhag and they have a 2000w amp. I had one and it hits harrrddddddd. Fan cooled and i also has a bass ****. oh yea it lights up 2. I was very pleased with it and im going to buy 2 more for my new set up only 150 cant beat dat (ebay)
