Dug this up poking around for the difference between ecru and nappa feeling leather. Probably gonna keep my LS for a while and ML's had standard eurethanized leather. Might check around for drivers seat skins OEM proly dead end but I check E BAy often.

Didn't know it was possible to euthanize leather since it's already dead.......

Ecru is a color while nappa is a leather. See dictionary if in doubt.

I have 2005 LS430 UL with Ecru color. This is nappa leather. Is softer to the touch than the leather in my LS400. I am not sure about leathers in other LS430. I know the black leather on UL was semi-aniline.

I have a 204 UL and also the brochure that defines the different models and options available/required. There are three options available. Either black or bordeaux Semi Aniline leather or Ecru napa leather were a required option on both the Custom Luxury or UL models. I don't know what the Modern Luxury model leather is, but the previously mentioned leather options were not available in that model.

It comes with a certificate from the USDA stating that the leather was processed in the most humane way possible. Also, you get a visio showing the calf's family tree and pedigree. Not worth the extra $1150 to me.....

Seriously I think from other threads the ML ad Premium basic leather on my 04's has been a plastisixed eurethane coated leather to be more durable. I have had rain on this thing a few times and it has still kept its original feel, taught..
