Default a/c doesnt blow cold

i have a06 ls430 and the a/c was blowing not as cold as before,i ran the a/c on max and the sight gage was bubbling pretty bad.i bought 2 cans of 134a and put the first can in and the bubbles subsided.waited 20 minutes and put the second can in and during this time the compressor stopped working but the clutch was still spinning.disconnected the pressure hose and now the a/c doesnt blow cold and the compressor is making a rattling noise and the clutch doesnt disengage
do you think the compressor is shot?what do you think my next step should be?
thanks in advance.

sounds like you overfilled the system. too much Freon will shut down the compressor. I used a can of a/c go pro and after about a half can a/c was working great. I thought maybe I could get the rest of the can in, but that over charged the system and it stopped working. had it professionally done at a dealer here and it has been fine for 2 years. they told me that I had overcharged it.

If you can get your hands on a manifold gauge set, here is the procedure to determine if you have the right amount of refrigerant in the system...

I personally would not try to diagnose an A/C problem without tools and knowledge to do it right. What if your intuitive fixes result in destroying the compressor? Big, big dollars. I would let the professionals do it right and take no risk to save a few bucks on this item.

Agree, find a good shop and get it diagnosed.
