Default 2004 LS 430 No start

Starter is spinning over but engine is not starting or attempting to fire. Any ideas?

Was there any change in the car from when it ran? Was the change sudden or did it get progressively harder to start or running and starting fine one minute and not starting the next?

Check relatively simple obvious stuff first - New gas, oil change, and parts, or maintenance changes of any kind? Is the chip in the key being recognized?

You will need to read error codes being produced to make a real diagnosis if nothing obvious is causing the issue.

Do you smell gasoline at the exhaust after spinning the engine? If not, your fuel pump is not working properly - it can be blown fuse, or you have a bad pump.

Default Fuses

I looked in owners manual for fuses. I could not locate a specific fuse # for the fuel pump. Could it be labeled under something else?

Take a look at the sketch below for fuses, relays, and electronics that can impact the fuel system for the 2004 LS430...

Air, fuel, spark - that's it to run. Simple concept but sometimes tough to track down the culprit. Does the starter sound normal? I've had an issue in the past on an ES where the starter would spin but not actually do anything, new starter fixed the problem.

Thanks Greg.

It sounds different when attempting to start. Perhaps it is the starter.

Does it sound like it's spinning freely now?

Wow. I learned something today! Pretty crazy the battery would have enough power to work the starter and turn the engine over, yet not enough spark!?

How did you come to the conclusion of the battery? Did you hook up jumper cables or something similar or arbitrarily changed the battery and she now runs??
