Rack and pinion issues

01 LS430, 160k miles, possible rack and pinion issues. Has anyone had issues with rack and pinion ? Steering feels a little stiff, tracking wanders with road truck grooves, possible fluid leak.
Is there any history on this ? Jon...

If you search a few pages back a couple guys just went through some rack and pinion replacements. There were some good diagrams posted by RKW as well.
