Dealer cost is out of sight to replace the steering rack. Has anyone done this your self?


Wondering:
Did you buy a new rack or re-built?
What needs to be replaced? Just the rack? or other related parts?
What is involved in the repair?
Do I need to worry about electronics?

I've done all sorts of work on this and other cars, but have never replaced a steering rack.
