Default 2005 LS 430 Ultra

I found, in my home state, an '05 LS430 Ultra.

A tad less than 75000 on the clock, one owner, sold to the dealer at auction in California according to the Carfax. No wrecks, good service history.

I will ask them to drain fluids/filters/rear end, replace with proper lubes, and make sure I can hop in and drive her home... 3000 miles. Once home, I am capable of general maintenance necessities/upgrades.

Question 1. What is a decent price for this clean ride(sight unseen)

Question 2. Anything special I should ask them to check?

I have to fly up to put eyes/hands on the car.

I do appreciate all of your feedback.

Thanks from a Lexus Newby...

All the best
Doug k

Do a forum search for ultra luxury package and you'll find a wealth of information. also there is a sticky at the top of this forum that will give you common issues to look for. this question is answered at least once a week here.

biggest things are air suspension, steering motors, power mirrors and the mark Levinson amp and subwoofer.

Been through most pages of the sticky stuff. Generally found the must check items as you pointed out.

Since the data in the stickys began in what... 06, and ended with a bit more data on just what the make up of a Ultra package consists of, my second question was answered by you and previous posts quite well.

My first question deals with the value of a 2005 today. I certainly well understand that there will be a range of prices, but I was and am looking for a value range today of the aforementioned car.

Kbb, nada, and others vary widely.
Perhaps better put....

With a clean carfax and vehicle in today's economy, what have any of you paid in the last, say two years or so, for a similar vehicle?

Thank you for your time

Probably right around the $13-$14.5 range, if everything is as you say.

If the car is mint with no issues and solid service history I'd say you could pay up to 15k and feel good about it. run the Vin on lexus owners site. you will have to register to do this.

if it is average condition and needs some love I'd say 12 to 13k. Fixes on the air suspension alone can cost a few grand pretty quick.

I thank you for the data, one and all, and apologize for my redundant questions. I do use the search mechanisms available but as we all know, one must ask just the right question the right way or the gigo effect takes place to some degree.

I will reference the "Lexus owners site". That may be the best way for me to see from the web just how a vehicle is equipped? Although, I do remember reading here somewhere that actual Lexus vins are not the "tell all" that other manufacturers provide.

Again, to be sure, I thank all of you for your help.

All the best

The owners site runs the VIN and tells you service history that was done at the dealer. Nothing about packages/equipment

Add Nav screen to that (300-650 if DIY). FYI sub woofer repair/install (total rebuild; new foam/cone/oscillators) locally is 250.
