Default New 05 LS, maintenance question.

Hi guys, just picked up a new to me 2005 LS430 with 118k km on it, so about 75k miles? Car looks almost new inside and out and drives wonderfully. Unfortunately it did not come with any service records, so my question is what kind of maintenance should I get done right away if any? And what should I look to get done later on in the future? This car is in amazing shape visually, and for the month I've had it there haven't been any mechanical problems whatsoever so naturally i would like to keep it that way. Much appreciated guys.

right after picking her up.

Looks like you have a beauty. It's a Custom Luxury or Ultra Luxury (air suspension, cooler box in rear with rear seat audio controls, seat massager, etc.). You should register the VIN with Lexus website to obtain more info.

I'm assuming custom luxury, it definitely doesn't have air suspension or the cooler in the back.

Does not hurt to check the throttle body and clean if necessary. Good looking ride. Congratulations.

Timing belt really isn't an issue on these cars. They recommend changing them at 90k, but it'll last much longer than that. I changed mine at like 115k?

I'd honestly just drain/fill all fluids and enjoy the car for the time being. Check for things around 90-100k miles. I bought mine with 103k on the clock and the only thing that was wrong with it was a very small leak on the driver side valve cover gasket, so I got both gaskets done and did the spark plugs while I was in there. Did my 90k maint around 115k and drained/filled all fluids and did my brakes around 120k because I started to get a shake in the wheel. These are very reliable cars, so you don't have to worry about much.

Funny how some get valve cover leaks and others do not. I'm at 143k and both gaskets are fine. It's worth checking and / or replacing the pcv valve as if this is not functioning properly it can cause this issue. Personally, I recommend also replacing the engine temperature sensor by 100k miles because when they start going bad their is no way to tell besides a drop in mileage and efficiency. Their cheap and easy to yourself.

As far as the suspension goes, front lower control arm bushings are common over 100k miles and it's worth doing the front and rear sway bar bushings at the same time. They get soft. Engine mounts are often good until 175-200k miles. The 05 and 06 are as good as the come in my opinion.

Hey Lav, Great info you posted.. I was not aware about the Engine Temp Sensor. My 05 is approaching 160k, I may need to look into this more. You have any more details?
