Shop states leaking steering rack will never hold alignment - BS?
I've been driving a long time, restored a 1970 MGB, and have owned numerous cars with just about any trouble fixed.
I got a new one for me: new tires, struts, and control arms and the shop calls me and says there's a steering rack leak. No prob, the car I just got is not perfect but it has good bones.
I did a search here and came across Lucas Power Steering leak to fix that, but they said the car will never hold an alignment because of the leak.
I say BS - you?
Thanks, gang...

Yeah, I would say they're trying to up sell you on a new rack. The rack will never know what the alignment is. Time to find a new shop.

The alignment shop said I had a leaky steering rack and wouldn't align it. Used the Lucas stop leak and it worked for me. But I have read that for others it doesn't.
We had the car up in the air 3 months later and there was no noticeable leak to my eyes.
