Default Peeling around Navigation, can this be fixed?

I've seen this on a few LSs I've looked at. Is this pretty common? Is there an aftermarket paint or would I have to get an entirely new panel around that?

If I recall correctly, You have to get a whole new nav unit. When I took mine out for aftermarket iPod player install and to stop a squeak, i remember it being all one piece.

Yeah I remember someone mentioning its all in one. I think that trim piece around the nav actually seperates though based on this picture.

It could probably be repainted or I wonder how hard it would be to wrap in a vinyl wrap. I wrapped my other cars trim with vinyl wrap.
Found 2 other threads that may help too.

I used one of these for my dash before when I was doing a custom audio bezel, but I don't recall the product number. It was a almost perfect match. I'll see if I can find anything on it in my old emails.

[Update]

I found the original thread that helped me but I don't recall which one I ordered.

My previous owner taped & painted mine. Looks very good. Can only notice tape line if looking very closely. Considering price of new parts on vehicle this age & how good a touch up job looks, I would probably opt for the paint.

Lots of great information here, thanks everybody.

I'm looking at two right now, but leaning towards the one with the flaking around the Navi.

I don't think that finish is "flaking" off. Looks more likely "scratched". Probably caused by some women that wore a lot of jewelry.

Lol, thought you were looking for a used one. I have one that I think I'll sell.

But as far as I've seen, most of the 430's I got in were elderly owned so I've never seen the scratches. But yeah there is a user here with a thread who had multiple attempts on matching the factory paint, check their thread I think they cracked the color code.

I think you're referring to this one, correct?

Wink Touch up Nav Bezel - 2003 LS430

I also had the paint peeling around the Nav.

bezel. Didn't want to spend the money on a new one. I went to Home Depot and bought a rattle can of paint and touched it up myself. It came out good for $7.00. I might do a little sanding and hit it again, but now I am happy.

Am fortunate that mine is without any chipping, but for those who have this issue what is the exact color/product that has been used with good results?
