Default Catalytic converter

I need to replace my front right catalytic converter. 2001 LS430 with 107k miles. Any advice on aftermarket brand? Or should I try and find a gently used OEM cat?

Thanks for any suggestions.

If you haven't found a replacement yet, I have a gently used OEM cat for sale, 120000kms (75000mi) on it.

Aftermarket for sure. OEM is out of control expensive or used one is an option. It's recommend you replace both at the same time. If you go aftermarket make sure you get the right one rated for the LS.

Are you getting a check engine light?

I would first make sure first there are no exhaust leaks, that's a common issue that throws that code, so sometimes there's nothing wrong with the converter at all it jut needs a simple repair and then the code cleared.

You can also put an O2 spacer if you simply want the light to go away.

o2 spacer? I must admit, I've never heard of that one. Maybe I haven't had enough emission issues to research it yet. Isn't the function of post and precat sensors to compare data and throw a code when there's something just not right? do you put the spacer in all o2 locations?

Reminds me of the good old days when you used to install a "Test Tube" in your car made to fit in place of the cat so you can see if your cat was bad. 90% of the people left the test tube in place..........

has anyone used these spacers to see if they work?

would be a good way to delete the cats without throwing a code.

Masterminds I hope you have some ideas. Saw my trusted Toyota master tech he came up after check engine VSC trac lights came on I think all at same time during a heavy rainstorm. P0420, convertor efficiency bank one. 1796 for convertor he felt aftermarkets weren't a good option? Anyone used aftermarket? Car runs fine otherwise. Plus I can do donuts

I could swear p0422 evap code came on at same time. Start with new Lexus filler cap and then cleaning filler neck, possible new he said and he checked Y pipe

OK to beat me up if its from running regular fuel car has 210k miles on it.

Oh yeah, the cats on these are $$$$$

Bosal does use a high value wash for their aftermarket units, same as their OE stuff
