Default Cracking wood steering wheel

I've had considerable success with several coats of equality clear nail polish.

Have not done this but am considering. This looks like a solid and long term solution. He cautions at the end of the video about dust particles and applied another coat which is a fine solution. But suspect the root cause is the multi-purpose, cheap blue shop towels he used to apply which create and leave behind a lot of lint. IF I do this, I would use a low nap microfiber applicator or other lint free cloth and just through it away when done. I recall another member here, who is a luthier (fixes guitars etc.) said this happens to vintage guitars all the time (seen it myself) and they use crazy glue to fill the cracks, sand with 1000-2000 grit and polish back to high gloss, If I recall correctly.

Interested if anyone tries or tired any of these solutions and their feedback.

Cheers, Galco
