Default 2003 LS430 - Brake Fluid Level Switch

Hello,

I've found the source of my brake circuit warning light as the failure of the brake fluid level sensor. There is not enough resistance when the plunger is fully up.

This sensor is located inside the brake fluid reservoir and I can't seem to find a Lexus part number to replace only the sensor. It seems that I must replace the whole reservoir sub assembly.

Can I just drain the brake fluid from the reservoir and easily separate the reservoir from the master cylinder? I see the Lexus part is around 120 dollars. Or is it better to replace the entire master cylinder (350 dollars from Lexus - 100-200 from Rock Auto)?

If someone's done this job before or has advice or instructions, please let me know.
