Default Panoramic look - Vinyl roof

Hey fellas,
Would like to hear some insights from fellow LS430 owners.

I'm thinking of wrapping my roof in black vinyl or Carbon Fiber vinyl. My car is factory black cherry.

I thought of doing it a while ago, but dismissed it because it just didn't feel right. But after seeing a couple of 430's with the black roof, on different colors, it's tickling my fingers to get it done.

I wonder how it'd contrast with my car's color.

I'm doing black accenting all around the car, just wondered if it would complete the look, finishing with a "uniform" black accenting all around.

Body kit will be accented with black too.

Your insights..

I would not do it. I think it looks better with the roof stock. Unless the car is painted black, blacking out a car does not look too great in my opinion. If anything, chrome compliments that color really well.

chrome top then!! Hahaha

I like blackened out accents, but not everything, leaving the right amount of chrome is key.

to each his own. Just realize it will impact your residual value significantly. Saw a low mileage very nice dark blue LS with a vinyl roof and I'd estimate the hit at around 15%, at their asking price. Who knows what they eventually sold it for

I plan to keep this car till my grand children drive it. Take it back home with me. Don't care about resale value. Or else I wouldn't have added any of the mods I have already.

I think I'm leaning to doing it myself. It costs about $60 for the materials. Looks like 2 hours of labor will do it.

Only reason I'm linking it, is because I think black compliments my car's color very well.

Chrome 19's or 20's, custom front led DRL, a K Break Platinum grill, and maybe some side skirts. At least that is what I would love to do.

Don't go 60's-70's retro with a black vinyl top applique.

Wrapped up the roof in "3M 1080, G212 Gloss black metallic"

This is a really glossy black and sparkly metallic too. It is not too black, a little transparent if you look really closely.
The car looks like it has panoramic sunroof now. Way better than the normal gloss black vinyl.
Happy with the results.
