Default 05 LS430 w/ PCS Front Emblems Different?

Whats up guys

I have a 2005 LS430 UL w/ PCS. My front gold emblem along with the rear are starting to fade and I would like to replace them.

My only concern is the front emblem. It seems to be different, but i am not sure. Does anyone know about this?

I see replacement emblem kits but the front emblem looks to have a an extension to the back side of it. (see attached)

I do not believe this is the case with my front emblem on the radome (PCS). It appears to be flat with adhesive tape. Does anyone one know where i can buy a front emblem with adhesive?

I wouldn't mess around with the PCS system. very expensive to fix if you break it. I don't think you can give it the 90's gold treatment.

As mentioned, be careful with your PCS. Have you ever actually had it engage? Never hear stories about this system in the forum.

I do not believe the replacing the emblem will actually mess with the PCS System. Please correct me if i am wrong. But i believe that PCS radome is the square plastic surrounding not the emblem itself like the newer models.

My front emblem already looks like it is peeling off and it is also faded. Which is why i want to replace it.

The PCS system engaged just the other day. A car stopped short in front of me, i slammed the brakes, the seat belts tighten up very fast and did not allow me to jerk forward. Felt very safe.

It is nice to have. It was not offered when my UL was produced. Very few 04's got it. Anyway, it's a cool system although I'm not a fan of the PCS grill. You say you slammed on the brakes? Did it worn you or did it hit the brakes for you? Just wondering how effective it can bring the car to a stop on it's own.

PCS calculates and reacts to speeds and distances from objects in front similar to your laser cruise control when it is engaged. To simulate, on ULs and CLs, set the laser cruise in 30 mph traffic, and don't manually brake as your vehicle approaches a slower or stopped vehicle in front. The system will automatically disengage the throttle, apply the brakes and give audible warning signal. (Of course, you should have your foot over the brake pedal and be prepared to manually apply the brakes.)

I have experienced how laser cruise will slow the car down and apply the brakes. It is a great feature. I really like the laser cruise. I guess what I am getting at is with newer systems on vehicles it will actually aggressively stop the vehicle. Does the 430 system perform in this manner? I'm getting the impression that it does not act quite the same way. More of a warning and it begins to slow vehicle and the driver would need to fully stop the vehicle?

When i said "slammed" i did press on the breaks hard as anyone would in my situation. So i am not sure if they car helped me in stopping or not but it probably did. I do love how the seat belts reacted tho.

But anyways, does anyone know if i can replace the emblem without affecting the PCS system?

Please advise. Anyone.

There are some cautions in this thread about messing with the PCS detection piece in the grill:

it will not bring the car to a stop on its own. It sets off a loud alarm when it thinks a collision is imminent. As soon as you touch the brakes it will apply full braking force, automatically put the suspension into sport mode to prevent nose dive, and retract the front seat belts to remove all the slack to hold you back.

I had a person cut me off on the freeway at 65mph as he abruptly changed lanes in from of me without the proper space. The laser system reacted quickly, slammed on the brakes and gave an alarm. Very impressive and much quicker than I was able to react. No complaints on this system here!
