Hi guys I bought 2001 LS430 done 158 miles and seems good working conditions
i have two issues i hope some one can help
Trunk release working good but remote control button does not respond i tried to use the lock under the driver knee but no any hope
can any body find a solution or is there a fuse that control the opening trunk
Navigation is working but the maps seem old how i can update the maps which version i can buy
Have you tried different keys?
I'm assuming the remote locks/unlocks the car?
You might have a faulty locking/unlocking sensor in the back. That sensors needs to feel you're close to it so that it can process opening the trunk. It's located in the right behind the rear bumper cover.

Thank you for your reply
I tried other buttons it does lock and unlock the doors and if you keep holding the unlock it will open all the windows and the sun roof too
and for the trunk actuator it works fine also i can find a small micro switch behind the bumper it is working
i think it is fuse issue but i dont know where and which one is it

Not sure if you know, but I thought I had the same problem when I bought my first Lexus (ES 300). Try holding down the trunk button on the remote for 2 seconds.
Is the valet trunk lock on? Make sure it is off. If not, I would then look at the key itself.
Hi
Can you please explain how to turn it on or off ?
if you mean the lock near the release button located driver knee side , I already checked it
and it is working when i activated the release button stop working
yes i did it and it is functioning when it is not engaged the release button does not work and when it is not
the release button works
i have no problem at all with the driver side button my only concern is the remote control
I have done this test and all of the buttons looks active
please check my key
Your key does not look at all like a genuine 2001 LS key. That is likely your problem. Note the "Lock" and "Panic" button on the genuine LS key is the same button. The trunk release button is separate. Start with the correct key. These '01 - '03 keys are DIY self-programmable too (as long as there are remaining key "open slots" available on the onboard computer). See https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...ansponder.html
