Default power swap ( more power)

Has anyone else thought about or maybe already swapped a 4.3 for the newer, more powerful 4.6 from the 460? Would sure be interesting with around 500 horses to play with.

Nah man.

Our only real option for more power is forced induction. You can supercharge it to 400 horsepower-ish. But you should probably get better pistons and connecting rods. And build out the transmission.

Level10 warrantys the 5 speed transmission to 800 horsepower.

But you'd probably need to turbo the engine to get to that power level.

The 1UR (the LS460 engine) makes 380 horsepower. I don't know of any tuning on it. It'd be the lord's work getting it to work in an LS430.
Just take the fuel injection system, the 1UR has 16 different injectors (2 for each cylinder) and no aftermarket ECU can support 16 injectors for an 8 cylinder engine. And if just run the port injectors, the direct injectors don't get enough fuel flow and heat up and will weld themselves to a cylinder.

You want 500 horsepower? Trade the LS430 for a GS300 and swap in a 2JZ-GTE with a single turbo set up.

We discussed this before I think.

It would be very hard to fit all the new plumbing inside the LS430 chamber.

Great idea though.

probably much cheaper just to buy the LS460 .... unless you do all the work yourself and place very little value on your time, and have lots of it, lol.

There was a guy on here that dropped an LS3 motor from a Corvette in his LS430 a few months ago. I saw someone do a 2JZ-GTE swap once too.

Other than that it's the usual supercharger kit or custom turbo setup.
