What shop did you get the $185 price for Pilkinton glass installed? I am in the Atlanta area and need a new glass installed. If you had good service from that company I would like to use them.

Here you go. You need to order the OEM top chrome molding ($32) if you want it to be exact. Otherwise, they use a standard black rubber molding.

Thanks for the info. I will contact them and order chrome trim and wiper sensor film from one of the forum vendors.

It's good to be crack free again.

From looking at this install is the only way to replace that chrome strip by pulling the glass out? What is that trim held on with?

The molding pops off without an issue. Just the clips hold them in place. The larger side pieces and the parts along the roof connect where they meet.

The top chrome strip was installed right after the new window was put into place. The window itself is able to move a good 1/4 - 1/2 inch up and down when they are setting it. That seemed like the best way to set that chrome top piece. In other words, after the top piece was installed they pushed the window back up into its final resting place. Why the tape is put on for 24 hours.

I also asked the guy to look for and fill any noticeable gaps around this molding with the sealer they use. He did this and to be honest this install has the least amount of wind noise. Between the oem, my first replacement, and this one it has been the best results. People have gone back and filled some of these same spaces on the sides of the top molding with the glue and it makes a difference. There are threads on here about this.

Off topic, but wanted to add that that leather sure looks beautiful. The pics were supposed to be copied here as well.

My windshield is due for a replacement soon as well and I did not get glass coverage for some smart reason.... Lesson learned.

For your viewing pleasure. I also love the color. My favorite. Hard to believe that leather is 10 years old. I keep it up of course too.

Since we've gone OT here, let me chime in and say I love that color of leather too. Beautiful upkeep job.

Cutting out 99% of the UV ray damage via window tint is very helpful in preserving the leather and dash.

Very nice saddle interior; I've always wanted that interior style, but am very satisfied with my maple red wine wood trim and black leather interior/millennium silver exterior custom level 2002.
