A broken styrofoam cup (kid pushed straw right through the bottom of the cup) caused a flooding of fruit punch in both the cup holder wells in the rear console of my 2005 LS430.

Glad to see that Lexus designed the cup holders in the rear as closed wells, so the liquid doesn't leak (I think) into the electronics there (rear-seat warmer controls).

Good job, Lexus!
Things would have been bad had this leak occurred in the front cup holders.
Some cars have been known to mis-deploy their airbags when liquids leak into their front console area.

I thought I was about to read about a mod to the cup holders in the rear... haha..

Maybe a box of mints can be installed in the rear cup holders for guests..

 

I did do a rear cup holder mod a few years back. Add's a lil jazz back there. :-)
