I have an 06 with 96k miles, and out of nowhere my IOD (ignition off draw) functions all stopped working. This means my steering wheel doesn't move when i shut the car off, mirrors dont fold, key fobs dont work, smartkey system doesn't work, dome lights dont work, compass doesn't work, information panel doesn't work, trunk motor doesn't work, etc. When a door is opened or closed, traction control shuts off, vsc shuts off, the red triangle warning light sometimes comes on. All lights can be reset by turning the car off and back on. I discovered by accident that I can activate the warning lights and sometimes even reactivate ALL SYSTEMS by pushing the domelight buttons a bunch of times. It makes no sense to me.....I have tried swapping batteries with a new one, new keyfob batteries, checking for an IOD fuse (couldn't find it), and consulting a friend who is a mitsu tech (baffles him). Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to take the car in to a dealership and get murdered on labor cost for them to tell me its a bad fuse. Thanks!

If the alternative is a car that you can't drive versus taking it to the dealer for a diagnonis, what choice do you have? Not all dealers are murderers.

The car is perfectly drivable, albeit sans any cool features...almost like safemode. I have to insert the keyfob to start the car, and can't lock it unless I use the emergency key in the fob.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery?

Yes and left it disconnected for an hour. I even swapped out the battery with a new one.

Sounds like a short or the computer on the fritz. May not be the main ecu. There are a bunch in there. Check extensively for any leaks in the car including the trunk ecu area and each side panel.

Yea unfortunately leak/corrosion is what I thought of first.

Check major fuse locations as well...could have burnt fuses relays...many systems are dependent on other systems

I'll check fuses again, didn't find anything before. Also the car has no signs of leaks or corrosion anywhere on or in it.

Sometimes fuses relays ecu pcm components just come flawed when that happens unfortunately only way to know is to check everything individually.....I would really lean towards a relay though
