Navigation,climate control and Airconditioning

got as LS430 02 recently and although its a fine car,the previous owner has been very harsh on it.Got a copl of problems wid it and wud love it if u guys could contribute sum explanations and info.
1) Navigation not working,dont show maps or anything and the nav button dont respond ,totally dead!
2) Climate control buttons dead,all of them except for the main button which pressed shows a message "check the wiring of the air condition" or sumthing to that tune!
Audio and all work great,its jes them nav and climate control buttons that dun work along wid the rear defogger button!
i would like sum suggestions and the locations of the fuses for these units and anything else that controls them!

Start with trying to pull OBDII codes to look for trouble. Sounds like the A/C might have a pulled plug (hopefully) or a shorted wire (not as good).
The Nav might be missing the disk. Make sure it's inserted. Look and search on the site here for the location and what you should find there - or the owners manual if you have it.

It sounds like there's something wrong with the entire module.
I wouldn't want to throw parts at it without knowing for sure, but my "shoot from the hip" would be to swap out the whole thing with a known good one. I would get something from a reputable salvage yard or Ebay, you could probably pick one up for $500.

I would have a hard time believing all of these functions are separately having failures, I would look at where all the systems are connected, but again, that's just a guess.

Iam goin to take a look at it this weekend and hopefully its jes a loose plug or sum broken wire...was outta town and jes came back today....
As advised iam gonna pull sum OBD codes first and then devise a plan on how to go about it,gotta make this car fly!
