Default Wheel paint color question

Is the wheel paint code info in the VIN or anywhere on the car?

I am looking for 2 replacement 16" wheels for my 2002 LS430. Looking at the reman wheels there is a range of paint color choices. I thought mine were Hyper Silver but now I am uncertain and would like to make sure I know what I need to get to match the other two.

Thanks for any insight or comments on this.

The VIN does not contain color, etc. codes.
You can check the placard on the driver's door frame, but it only has the body color(s) on the next to last line starting with C/TR.

The vin DOES contain the color code and other model specific info if you have a vin decoder, but it will not tell you the color of your wheels though, just color of the car itself and interior trims.

There is no paint code for the wheels in a Vin period on any make or model. Only thing there will be is main body paint code. I don't work for Lexus so I couldn't tell you but give me any Toyota or nissan Vin and I can tell you down to what tires even came on it. Exterior colors and interior colors and trims are all in there.

Where in the VIN is the body paint code, tire code, interior color, etc?
I have decoded every digit of the VIN and there is no code for any of these items.

Of course, you can look up the VIN in the manufacturer's records if you have access to this information, but it is NOT in the VIN itself, which his what you implied in your post #3.
