Portable Tire Inflator/Compressor
Greetings all,
I was wondering if any of you have purchased a portable tire inflator/compressor. If so, can you share your opinion on how good they work. I have 3 cars and keeping up with tire pressures gets a little annoying when I have to take each car to a air pump station at your nearest gas station.
Let me know. Thanks.

This is the one I purchased and I have been happy with. Their great for minor inflation. This unit has really good reviews too.

My grandpa gave me one that he bought from Autozone a few years ago and it works pretty good but it's a little slow.

If you don't need it to be portable then get a 120v version that plugs into the standard wall outlet. They will pump about twice as fast. Also, the portable units work better with the car running. Just a heads up.

I've been using a $30 Kobalt compressor from Lowes Home Improvement (price is now $25) for at least three years - 1 to 4 times a month on multiple vehicles depending on temperature fluctuations. It's very fast and substantially quieter than other 12V compressors I've owned. Customer reviews on it are over the map - some people think it is junk and others like me think it is wonderful. Maybe it's lasted for me since I take care of my stuff. I've never saw a need to start a vehicle engine while using it. The air hose is fairly short so the compressor may "dangle" a little if the valve on the car wheel happens to be at the 12 o'clock position. This compressor is compact and comes with a nice protective case: http://www.lowes.com/pd_292215-40883...sor&facetInfo=

I've had dedicated inflators that required power and found them a pain to use (getting car in the right spot to plug in or messy wiring to wrap up). They aren't as fast but I prefer a jump box with a compressor built in. They're slower and probably louder, but have found them to be a lot more flexible and mobile.
I use this one heavily at the track for trailer and truck tires, plus lots of jumps for cars and a USB charger to boot.

I bought the Viair 88P. I use it to re-inflate my tires after trips on deep sand roads in my Subaru. I air the tires down 20psi then when I get back out to the road it takes about 3-5mins per tire to get em back up to 32-34psi. Great product.
