What are the symptoms of bad amp/subwoofer??
Hi All,
The sound quality is quite nice from my 2005 LS430 but not as good as the system in Acura RDX with Tech pacakge. I am wondering if the system is working properly. Since I never heard any other LS430's sound system, I have nothing to compare to. Currently there is no static noise/flutter sound from any speakers but one thing I notice is the bass seems to be weak, even at the max level. I checked the speaker behind the rear seat, it seems to be fine (no tear and the face moves up and down with the beat). I just ordered Grom unit and try to install it this weekend. Any input is appreciated.

The factory sub is pretty wimpy unless you use Dynamat to cover the rear deck and truck. There was a member who did that and said the bass response was much better. The bass in the LS isn't all that great compared to my Accord and SC300's stereo.
Usually symptoms of a bad amp would be noise coming from the speakers or no sound at all coming from the sub/speakers. Since there isn't any tears in the subwoofer I would guess it still works.
