Default NAV question

Hi all,

I havent upgraded Navigation in my 06 LS430 since I purchased it in 2009.
I am going to keep the car for a year at least, is it smart to invest into upgrading the Nav system?
Can I do it myself or I have to go to the Lexus dealer?
How much should I expect to spend?

Thank you,

IL

You want to upgrade to system ($$$) or the disc to.have more recent Poi? If disc, current disc would be $250 while older, but newer than yours would run $90-$200 range. Changing it is opening the unit in trunk, under floor, and replacing the disc. Not difficult, just a few bolts to remove cover. I would say a slightly above easy task.

Is newer disc going to make significant difference that my current one (2006)?
I saw NAV discs on eBay and Amazon, are they any good (ligit)?

Also, can I upgrade NAV system too? Should I?

Thank you again,

IL

Sewell is one of the Club Lexus sponsors. On my display, they are the second entry under "sponsors".
I believe the process is to create an account with them, then give the secret handshake, and you get a pretty nice discount.
Perhaps another member can give more precise instructions.
